Strictly Necessary Cookies

Preference Cookies
These are settings that Roofcast stores on your device so that the platform works the way you left it: your light or dark theme, the price tolerance you set for your predictions, the last locations you searched, whether you have seen the onboarding intro, and your position in a list when you go back to it. They are set by Roofcast only when you use the feature, contain no tracking identifier, are never shared with third parties, and are not used to measure or profile you. Because they only store choices you made yourself, there is no switch for them; you can remove them at any time by clearing your browser storage.
Analytics & Performance Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the platform by collecting and reporting information in aggregate. We use them to measure engagement and improve the platform. We do not use session recording.
On the waitlist page we store a random identifier in your browser’s local storage (roofcast.waitlist-visitor.v1) to count unique visitors and measure how many of them join the waitlist. It is set by Roofcast, is not shared with third parties, contains no personal information, and is replaced after 12 months. It is not set if you opt out of analytics cookies, if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or if you are in the EEA or the UK.
Marketing Cookies
Roofcast does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required, ask for your consent before setting them. Roofcast does not use marketing cookies to sell personal information for monetary consideration. Roofcast may permit service providers to process information on its behalf as described in the Privacy Policy and this Cookie Policy.
Our consent model
Visitors of our website may manage analytics and functional cookies through the link in the website footer. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off, and preference cookies have no switch because they only store choices you made yourself. For visitors whose location we detect as the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, analytics cookies are not set at all. Functional cookies (the support chat) are available to these visitors and can be turned off through the same link.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can opt out of non-essential cookies at any time using the link in the website footer. Your choice is stored locally on your device. Analytics stops immediately; the support chat stops loading from your next page load. Opting out does not remove cookies that were already set; you can delete those through your browser settings. Because your choice is stored per-device, you will need to set it again on another device or after clearing your browser storage.
Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we automatically treat it as an opt-out of analytics cookies — you do not need to take any further action. The signal does not affect functional cookies (the support chat), which you can turn off through the link.
